Do you fully understand how, when and what to document on your new build for the new Part L Building Regulations? Well Since June 2023 you now have to prove that you have built your property to the designed specification and efficiency. This means keeping photographic evidence of your build.
Build Pix takes away the hard work and in one simple solution we show you how and when to take the pictures and save them to our platform and then share them with the stakeholders that need to see them, your Architect, Building Control, Warranty company and SAP consultants.
1. What evidence do I need to retain?
The new Part L Building Regulations need you to keep photographic evidence to prove that the building has been built to specification with regard to insulation, efficiency and plant installation.
- Useful diagrams - Show what to take pictures of, when, and the best angles to capture them from.
- Document storage - Upload essential documents to the hub and then instantly share with all the essential third parties.
- Allow Access - Save time by giving access to the third parties so that they can track progress and download the evidence they need.
Get shown what pictures to take and when
Photographs are needed to show the amount of insulation you are adding into the fabric of the building at every stage of the build. Obviously once the building is complete it is near impossible to prove what has been included.
The photographs are taken by your build team on site, we understand that they are not photographers so there are basic instructions and diagrams to show them what needs to be taken from which angle to deliver the best results.
We have broken the pictures down to a very easy schedule to follow as you progress through the build phase, this needs to be done for every plot so over a period of time it will become second nature to the workers
Build Pix simplifies the sharing and documentation requirements
One of the most time-consuming parts of the new Part L Building Regulations is the gathering and sharing of information. The images need to be passed to an administrator who then compiles them and emails them out to the required stakeholders, on larger sites and within companies with multiple large sites this will become a very time consuming job for multiple people.
By getting the site staff to take the pictures and upload them to the portal and giving access directly to the required stakeholders, the administration time is removed completely thus reducing costs and improving efficiency.
